Cabinet Division wants extra Tk 100 crore to celebrate the ‘Mujib Year’

The cabinet division has demanded Tk 100 crore more to extend the work and life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the country abroad.
The Cabinet division wanted the above amount of fund at tri-partial revised budget meeting at finance ministry auditorium last week .
In addition, a letter signed by Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet division signed by Md Rafiqul Islam on January 25 demanded the extra money.
The letter states that in order to celebrate the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in due dignity, an additional Tk 100 crore allocated by the National Implementation Committee of Mujib Borsho in this fiscal budget and for the next 2020-21 fiscal year Cabinet division also requested budget of Tk 200 crore for the next fiscal year.
The letter also states that the budget management committee meeting of the budget management committee of the department held on January 2019-20, the financial year, adopted the principle of allocating the money to the concerned sector.

Out of this fiscal allocation, National Implementation Committee receives Tk 21.15 crore and disburses Tk 44 lakh for the Media Center. Video, film production Tk 12 crore. Taka two lakhs for motor cycle repair. Cost of Countdown of Mujib Year in 53 zillas that also expenses Tk6.52 crore.
