Dr Ahmed Munirush Salehin, secretary to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment said that some 1.20 crore expatriate Bangladeshis are working in 170 foreign countries.
He came up with the disclosure at the inaugural function of the app ‘Probasi’ on Tuesday (March 30) at the Hotel Sonargaon in the capital.
He further said, “If 2 million people are employed in the country, then foreign employment contributes 25 percent. Everyone must come forward for the development of this sector.”
He said, “There are both good news and bad news in foreign employment. However, the sad news was printed on a large scale. So I say, do not run after the golden deer. Observe and understand and then fly for abroad.”
