Bangladesh reported 5,358 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, which is the highest ever single-day infection, raising the total number of infections to 6,11,295 across the country so far.
Besides, 52 people died from the virus over the same period, raising the total number of deaths to 9,046 across the country.
A press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the development on Wednesday (March 31).
