The first shipment of 6 Metrorail bogies from Japan has arrived in Mongla port. The unloading works of the bogies started from the 8th yard of Mongla port on Wednesday (March 31) evening.
Earlier, MV SPM Bangkok carrying the bogies arrived in Mongla port around 4:00 pm.
Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, chairman of the Mongla Port Authority, senior officials of the port and representatives of the Metrorail Authority were present at that time.
Ohiduzzaman, General Manager of the local shipping agent Ancient Steamship Company Limited for the foreign ship said, “The first consignment of six railway cars (coaches) of Metrorail from Japan reached Mongla port on Wednesday (March 31) afternoon. The imported carriages will be sent to Dhaka after unloading at Yard No. 8 of the port.
