The government has issued a gazette notification, extending the ongoing countrywide lockdown by another week from April 28 till May 5 in a bid to contain the spread of deadly coronavirus (Covid-19).
The cabinet division issued the gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday (April 28).
According to the gazette notification, a ban has been imposed on entry of travellers from India through the country’s land, river and airports. Bangladeshis, who are now in India and whose visas have expired, can enter Bangladesh on special consideration, taking permission from the Bangladesh High Commission.
However, vehicles carrying goods and essentials will remain out of the purview of the restrictions.
The operations of international special flights and banking activities will continue while the other restrictions will remain in force till May 5 midnight.
The shops and shopping malls will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm every day.
