China’s Sinopharm vaccine has been approved for emergency use in the country.
Major General Mahbubur Rahman, director general of the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) of Bangladesh, announced the development during a briefing on Thursday (April 29).
“With the help of our technical experts, we have verified the data of Sinopharm vaccine sent to us. We have a public health emergency committee consisting of 12 members. After analyzing the data of the vaccine, they have found that its effectiveness is very much good,” Mahbubur Rahman said.
Earlier on April 27, the government approved emergency use of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine, paving the way for a second Covid-19 vaccine in the country.
