State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said 4,500 Union Parishads of the country to be covered under fiber optic high speed broadband connectivity.
The minister said this while addressing a virtual meeting titled “Broadband connectivity at the union level” on Sunday (May 2).
He said that all kinds of activities including trading, education, health service are depended on internet in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
“According to the direction of Prime Minister’s ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Where fiber optical cable is not available, internet service will be provided through Bangabandhu-1 satellite there. Through it young generation will be able to build their freelancing career in remote areas,” Palak said.
