Mad rush of home-goers is also prevailing in Shimulia ghat area today (Monday).
BGB members have been deployed at various points of the ghat since Monday (May 10) morning. They are preventing the passengers from going towards the ghat.

During visit, it was seen the Shimulia terminal was teeming with homebound people ahead of Eid everyday.
People were leaving Dhaka in cars, microbuses, CNG-run auto-rickshaws, pick-up vans, trucks, and covered vans ahead of Eid.
BIWTC Manager (Finance) Md Foysal Ahmed said BIWTC was forced to operate a ferry service for a dead body carrying ambulance. Taking the opportunity, thousands of people boarded the ferry to cross the river.
