China is providing five lakh doses of its Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine to Bangladesh as a gift. The vaccines are now on their way to Dhaka.
The vaccines are expected to arrive at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Wednesday (May 12).
The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka in a message confirmed the development on Monday (10 May) night.
The Sinopharm company finished packing for the 500,000 doses of gifted vaccines, which are heading to Beijing Capital International Airport in a cold-chain container truck now, according to the message.
Yesterday, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming said five lakh doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine as a gift from the Chinese government will arrive in Bangladesh on May 12.
