Film actress Pori Moni will get release from jail on Wednesday (September 1) as documents of her bail did not reach the Kashmipur Central Jail on Tuesday (August 31).
Syed Shah Sharif, Jailer of Kashim Women Central Jail, confirmed the matter in the evening.
He said, “The documents did not reach until 5:00 pm. It would not be possible to release her if the document reaches in the night. She will be released after 9:00 am or 10:00 am through scrutinizing the documents subject to arrival here.”
Mentionable, Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Court judge KM Imrul Kayes granted bail to actress Shamsunnahar Smrity, popularly known by her stage name Pori Moni, on Tk 50,000 bail bond till the submission of police report.
Pori Moni was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from her Banani residence in the capital on August 4. Law enforcers seized huge drugs from her residence. Later, a case was filed with Banani Police under Narcotics Control Act. She was remanded several times in the case.
