Global death toll from Covid-19 surpasses 52 lakh

More than 6,000 people have died of coronavirus (Covid-19) infections and over 5.5 lakh people have been infected with the virus across the world in the past 24 hours.

With the fresh deaths, the total number of Covid-19 deaths reached over 52 lakh.

A total of 6,337 more people died from coronavirus infections worldwide in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths in the virus to 52,06,260. On the other hand, the death toll in the virus was 7,297 in the previous day.

Besides, some 5,69,833 people tested positive for coronavirus worldwide over the same period, raising the total number of infected cases to 26,08,76,454. But a day before, the number of daily coronavirus cases was 5,90,374.

Meanwhile, some 23,56,75,448 people have made recoveries from the virus infections across the world so far.

International survey organisation Worldometer disclosed the information on Saturday (November 27) morning.

The first coronavirus outbreak occurred in Wuhan, China, in December of 2019. It started spreading in different countries of the world since then.
