Bangladesh have qualified for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, ICC confirmed on Saturday (November 27).
Due to the rise of the latest Covid-19 variant in South Africa, the International Cricket Council abandoned the ongoing ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2021 in Zimbabwe.
The qualifiers will now be decided according to the team rankings as detailed in the tournament playing conditions. So, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the West Indies are getting a chance to join the 2022 World Cup.
According to the latest ICC ODI rankings, Bangladesh is in fifth place with 95 rating points. The West Indies women’s cricket team is in seventh place with 87 rating points. Pakistan women’s team is in eighth place with 68 rating points. These three teams will play directly in the 2022 World Cup.
The ODI World Cup will start on March 4, 2022, in New Zealand. The final will be held on April 3 in Christchurch.
