Health Minister Zahid Maleque said we are going to suspend communication with South Africa and impose travel bans on the country as a new variant of coronavirus has been detected in the country.
The minister came up with the information on Saturday (November 27).
“We are aware of the new variant detected in the South Africa. The new variant is very aggressive. We are suspending air link with South Africa. Screening will be strengthened at all land and air ports,” the minister said.
The minister instructed the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to take necessary steps in this regard.
