Following raids conducted at several hotels and cottages in Cox’s Bazar, police detained twenty-one people for their alleged involvement in the illegal activities.
On Tuesday (December 28) morning, Sheikh Munir Ul Gias, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, said, “A gang of criminals are becoming active in the guise of tourism business. Raids are being conducted to curb crimes which will continue this way.”
Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station OC (Operations) Selim Uddin and Sub Inspector (SI) Anwar led the operation that began on Monday (December 27) midnight.
The team arrested twenty-one people on charges of being involved in illegal activities. Some pieces of Yaba tablets have been seized from their possession, the OC said.
The police officer also stated that the owners of the hotel-cottages involved in illegal activities will be arrested as well.
