Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that government has no plan to issue lockdown for now.
However, the minister urged the concerned parties to shut super markets and shops by 8:00 pm instead of 10:00 pm so that the infection cannot get spread massively.
The Minister said this while talking to the reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday (January 04).
Alongside, he also urged all people to wear mask and maintain other health regulations. He also suggested people to avoid gathering unless there is extreme emergency.
The Minister said, “The rate of coronavirus infection and death declined during the period of July to mid-November last year. The world suddenly became thoroughly upset with the attack of mostly infectious African variant of Coronavirus in the late November. There is also Delta variant. The World Health Organization (WHO) has termed the Omicron and Delta as Tsunami of the Coronavirus. The US and Europe logged new records infections of Omicron and Delta variants. Neighboring India is no exception.”
