Dhaka College authority has postponed all classes and examinations following the clash between Dhaka College students and some traders in the capital’s New Market area.
The announcement was made at the verified Facebook page of Dhaka College around 4:00 am on Tuesday (April 19).
“Due to unavoidable reasons, all classes and examinations of Dhaka College’s Higher Secondary and Honors-Masters classes were postponed on Tuesday, April 19. All teachers are requested to be present at the college by 10:00 am,” according to the post of Dhaka College’s Facebook page.
Earlier around 12:00 am, Dhaka College students clashed with traders in the capital’s New Market area.
According to sources, two students of Dhaka College went to New Market to buy products at night. An altercation ensued between the students and a shop owner and staff. Hearing the news that two students were stabbed, other students of the college rushed to the area and locked into a clash with traders.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the clash and brought the situation under control.
