Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has started unfolding the national budget for the financial year 2022-23 (FY23) at the Jatiya Sangsad.
The finance minister started budget speech at 3.00 pm as invited by Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
Earlier at noon, the Cabinet at a special meeting approved the proposed national budget for the fiscal year 2022-2023.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting held at the Cabinet room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and other cabinet ministers and state ministers concerned attended the meeting.
He is placing a Taka 6,78,064 crore budget with the major challenge of reining inflation amid unfavourable global economic situation.
This is the country’s 51st budget and the 23rd of the Awami League government in five terms.
