Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at places over four divisions in the next 24 hours as of 9:00 am tomorrow.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and intense lightning flashes is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a Met Office release issued this morning.
Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
As an outlook for next 72 hours, the BMD predicted: “Rainfall activity is likely to continue.”
Country’s maximum temperature on Monday was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius at Tarash in Rajshahi division and today’s minimum temperature 22.0 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sitakunda in the Chattogram division.
The highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 106 mm at Tetulia in Rangpur division.
