New bankers urged to ensure farmers-friendly services

Newly recruited bankers have been urged to ensure farmers-friendly services through building themselves as skilled and eligible ones.

They were also given instruction on facing the new challenges in the modern banking sector through discharging their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty.

Senior bankers came up with the instructions while addressing the closing and certificate-giving ceremony of a month-long foundation-training course of 35th batch of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) at its training institute on Thursday.

A total of 40 newly recruited senior officers and officers joined the training course.

RAKUB Managing Director Zahidul Haque and Deputy Managing Director Saiful Alam addressed the ceremony as chief and special guests respectively, while principal of the institute Subrata Sarker was the chair.

General Managers Atikul Islam, Maksuda Nasrin and Shawkat Shahidul Islam also spoke on the occasion.

The senior bankers urged the newly recruited bankers to start their profession being equipped with necessary skills and discharging duties as it is inevitable for attaining success in the banking sector for overall socio-economic development of the region.

They also urged them to make the banking services client-friendly so that they can derive total benefits of the banking services.

Innovative ideas and best uses of those can be a vital means of delivering farmer-friendly banking services to the grassroots clients to ensure their welfare.

Managing Director Zahidul Haque highlighted the importance of the bank in agricultural development of northwest Bangladesh and asked the officers to apply the knowledge acquired from the training in the professional field properly for boosting agricultural production in the region.

As the largest development partner in the agricultural sector of northwest Bangladesh, RAKUB plays a vital role in achieving economic emancipation through boosting credit-flow to the potential agricultural fields.

“You have to build yourselves as competent bankers through the best use of knowledge you acquired from the training,” said Zahidul Haque.

The main objective of the training was to improve skills and attitude alongside enhancing professional competence of the officers through disseminating ideas about operation, administration and other related matters of the bank.
