‘Withdrawal of additional security won’t affect bilateral ties’

Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen on Tuesday said the withdrawal of additional security to foreign diplomats will not affect the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the concerned countries.

He said this while replying to queries from journalists after an event at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Tuesday (May 16).

Masud Bin Momen said that some countries used to get special security forces for their movement in our country. However, it is not provided in many developed countries. This facility is not provided in USA, Europe, Saudi Arabia. We have decided not to give this facility to anyone else.

The secretary also said that we will ensure the security of ambassadors as per the Vienna Convention. There will be no police escort for the ambassadors during their movement on the road.
