First hajj flight leaves Dhaka this midnight

The first hajj flight is scheduled to leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Saudi Arabia this midnight.

A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, carrying 419 pilgrims, will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Jeddah at 3.20am on Sunday (May 21).

Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Hajj Programme-2023 (1444 Hijri) at the Hajji Office in the capital’s Ashkona area.

This year, a total of 1,22,221 pilgrims from Bangladesh are going to perform the holy hajj.
