6 people were killed in a terrible road accident in Padma Setu area

6 people were killed on the spot when an ambulance coming from behind rammed into the back of an LP gas laden truck while moving in Padma Setu area. The accident took place on Tuesday 17th January near Padmasetu South Police Station in Shariatpur at around 5 am.

Jazeera Fire Service Station Master Enamul Haque Suman said that it has been possible to identify one of the victims. The identified person’s name is Rabiul Islam (29). His house is in Khilgaon area of ​​Taltala in Dhaka North City Corporation. Besides, there is also one named Barisal Bureau Chief Md. Masud Rana of Dainik Navchetna Patrika.

It is known that the patient was being taken to Dhaka by ambulance from Shibchar. In the meantime, when the accident occurred in the Padma Setu area, a total of 6 people, including the driver of the ambulance and the patient in it, died on the spot. Later, the dead bodies were recovered and brought to Jazira Upazila Health Complex.

The deceased are patient Jahanara Begum (55), health worker Fazle Rabbi (28), patient’s daughter Lutfun Nahar Lima (30), car driver Jilani (28), car helper Rabiul Islam (26), journalist Masood Rana (30).

Station Master of Jazeera Fire Service Enamul Haque Suman said that we suddenly got news of a terrible road accident in Padma Setu area. I immediately went there and took the cars involved in the accident to a safe place and recovered the bodies and brought them to the Jazira Upazila Health Complex.

Police Inspector (Investigation) of Padmasetu South Police Station Suruj Uddin Ahmed said, I suddenly heard a loud scream near the police station. I came and saw that 6 people were killed on the spot after admitting the accident. Later we informed the fire service and recovered the car and the bodies with them.

Highway Faridpur Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Maruf Hasan said, we went to the spot along with the fire service and the South Thana police and recovered the bodies of the victims and brought them to the Jazira Upazila Health Complex. The relatives of the deceased have been informed that the body will be handed over from here.
