Application for cluster admission test begins today

The application process for first-year undergraduate admissions to 22 general as well as science and technology universities of the cluster system for the academic year 2022-23 will begin today, Tuesday (April 18).
Students have to visit the designated website and apply between 12:00 PM and 30 April (Sunday) at 11:59 PM.

After the application, the admission test for the ‘B’ unit, ‘A’ unit on 27 May, and ‘C’ unit on 3 June will be held. This year also students can choose a center from the list of exam centers provided on the website.

Monday (April 17) member secretary of integrated admission test and Jagannath University registrar engineer Md. Ohiduzzaman provided this information.

He said that the students will get an opportunity to get admission in any department of any university by participating the admission test in their studied department. All admission test information is available on the integrated admission test website of the cluster universities www.gstadmission.ac.bd.

The admission circular states that SSC or equivalent in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and HSC or equivalent in 2021 and 2022, Diploma-in-Commerce, HSC (Vocational) under Bangladesh Technical Education Board, A Level and other equivalent examinations (equivalent (with approval by the Selection Committee) passed students can only apply for the admission test.

Students who have passed HSC or equivalent examinations from science, humanities, and commerce streams will apply for the ‘A’ unit, ‘B’ unit, and ‘C’ unit respectively subject to the prescribed qualifications.

Application eligibility is different for the different units in the cluster admission test. Applicants who have passed HSC or equivalent examination from the science stream in the ‘A’ unit should have an aggregate GPA of at least 8.00 with a minimum GPA of 3.50 in both SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examination (including 4th subject). Madrasa Board (Science) and Vocational (HSC) along with the Science Branch of the General Education Board will be considered as Science Branch.

Applicants who have passed HSC or equivalent examination from the humanities stream in the ‘B’ unit should have an aggregate GPA of at least 6.00 with a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examination (including 4th subject). Music, Home Economics, and Madrasah Board (General, Mujabbid) along with Humanities of General Education Board will be considered as Humanities.

Applicants who have passed HSC or equivalent examination from the Commerce branch in the ‘C’ unit should have an aggregate GPA of at least 6.50 with a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examination (including 4th subject). Diploma in Business Studies, Business Management (HSC), and Diploma in Commerce along with the commerce stream of the General Education Board will be considered as the commerce stream.

The admission test result of each unit will be published on the designated website of the batch admission test. A minimum of 30 marks (pass marks) should be obtained in the admission test. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Only the students appearing in the clustered integrated admission test can apply to the preferred university subject to eligibility.
