Jatiya Party Secretary General Md. Mujibul Huq Chunnu has said the party will contest the general election with candidates in 300 seats.
Talking to journalists at a formal briefing on Wednesday at the party’s Banani office in the capital, he came up with this declaration.
He said, “We have almost taken all preparations ahead of the Jatiya Sangsad polls. But we have not declared whether we will participate in the election. We always stated that we want to see an atmosphere for credible elections so that voters can go to voting centers and cast their votes.”
“We have been assured from the Election Commission and other relevant stakeholders that the election will be free, fair, and acceptable. And keeping faith in their commitment, our party chairman GM Quader has decided to join the polls. As per the directive of the party chairman, I am declaring that the Jatiya Party will take part in the election,” said Mujibul Huq Chunnu.
