General diary in police station against LGED engineer in Shariatpur

The victim journalists made a general diary in the incident of bribery of LGED engineer Nabil Ahmed Katrik journalists at Khejurtala in Damudya upazila of Shariatpur.

Samakal district representative Sohag Khan Sujan made a general diary at Damudya police station on Sunday (March 24) afternoon. Whose GD No-986.

Upazila LGED engineer Nabil Ahmed behaved arrogantly with journalists when he went to collect information about the ongoing work of carpeting a road in Damudya LGED at noon last Thursday (March 21). This incident has created a lot of excitement in the district. In protest, various organizations have announced a human chain program at the district administrator’s office tomorrow, Monday (March 25).

It is known that inferior and old materials are being used in the ongoing work of carpeting a Pichdhalai road in LGED of Damudya Upazila. Based on this information, Bangla TV and Samaya Kanthswara representative Nayan Das, The Daily Star representative Zahid Hasan Roni and Dainik Samakal representative Sohag Khan Sujan along with several other media journalists went to the spot on the basis of this information.

A visit to a place called Khejurtala in Damudya shows that sand, dust and stones are mixed with bitumen by machines for road carpeting. On the east side of this machine are placed old carpeting stones from the road and on the west side are broken stones from old bridges. Engineer Nabil Ahmed angrily lashed out at the media workers asking why such old materials for road carpeting were kept here. At that time, he threatened to kill the journalists. The victims of the incident filed a general diary at Damudya police station today asking for safety in their lives.

Shariatpur District LGED Executive Engineer S.M. Rafeul Islam said, the site has been inspected on the instructions of our higher authorities.

Damudya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emrat Hossain said, Daily Samkal journalist Sohag Khan Sujan came to the police station today and made a general statement. Now after investigation, action will be taken as per rules.
