Bangladeshi national shot dead by BSF in C`nawabganj

A Bangladeshi national was shot to death and other one received bullet injury allegedly by the members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Rokonpur border under Gomastapur upazila of Chapanawabganj early Wednesday (April 3).

The deceased was known as Saiful Islam, 30, son of Hasan Ali, hailed from Nagarpara.

 

Local sources said some people along with Saiful went into Indian territory through Rokanpur border to bring cows from India. Meanwhile, BSF members opened fire on them. Saiful died on the spot. Later, the BSF took the body.

Radhanagar union parishad chairman Matiur Rahman said a Bangladeshi named Saiful Islam was killed in firing by BSF while bringing cows from India. His body is kept in Indian territory now.

BGB-16 Battalion Rokonpur BOP commander Naib Subedar Azad Rahman said investigation is underway in this regard.
