13 Myanmar border guards enter Bangladesh

13 more members of the Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) took shelter in Bangladesh on Thursday night amid a conflict between the country’s military and the armed rebel group in Rakhine state.

Crossing the Naf River, they surrendered to the members of coast guards of Bangladesh.

Shariful Islam, public relations officer (PRO) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confirmed the matter on Friday morning (April 19).

He said the 13 more BGP members surrendered to the Bangladesh coast guards yesterday. Later, coast guard handed over them to BGB Naikhongchhari Battalion-11.
