Faridpur: The Minister of Religion said about the killing of two laborers by beating up the rumors of setting fire to the Kali temple of Madhukhali, Panchapalli, Faridpur. Faridul Haque Khan said, “Exemplary punishment will be taken against those involved in the beating of the workers.” Indeed those who are guilty will not be spared irrespective of their religion.
In this case, the case has been asked to be taken under the speedy justice law. The administration will find those involved in the incident and bring them under the law. ‘
The minister said these things while addressing the chief guest at the ‘District Social Harmony Committee’ meeting in the hall of the District Commissioner of Faridpur at around 4:30 pm on Saturday (April 20).
The Minister of Religion said, “We are shocked and saddened by the violence on this issue.” This happened for some dishonest purpose. This incident cannot be expected or believed in a non-sectarian country.
The minister also said that everyone should make an effort to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future. Meetings and seminars should be organized to make people aware in every upazila including the district.
Faridpur District Commissioner (DC) Md. Kamrul Ahsan Talukder was present at the time- Member of Parliament of Faridpur-3 Constituency A.K. Azad, reserved women parliament member Jharna Hasan, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Morshed Alam, district A.League president Shamim Haque and other religious leaders and senior officials of various departments including administration.
Incidentally, on Thursday (April 18) around 7:30 p.m., two people were killed when construction workers were thrashed on suspicion of setting fire to the Kali Mandir in Panchpalli area of Dumain Union in Madhukhali Upazila of Faridpur. Meanwhile, five more construction workers were injured in the beating.
