The killer bus driver has been arrested in connection with a bus-pickup collision in which 15 people were killed at Tentultala in Kanaipur, Faridpur.
A team of Faridpur RAB-10 camp conducted a raid around 12:30 on Sunday and arrested the driver named Khokon Mia (54) from Jhenaidah.
Khokon Mia is the son of Delwar Hossain of Kotchandpur Upazila Sadar of Jhenaidah District. He was absconding since the accident.
In a press briefing at Faridpur RAB office at 11:30 on Monday, the company captain of RAB-10, CPC-3 Faridpur camp said this information. Commander KM Shaikh Akhtar.
It was informed in the press briefing that on April 16, a bus carrying passengers of Uttara Unique Paribahan from Dhaka to Magura hit a pickup leaving Alfadanga at a place called Tentultala in Kanaipur, Faridpur. 15 passengers including a woman and a child in the pickup were killed. The bus driver and helper fled after the accident. In this incident, Imamul Sheikh, the relative of the deceased, filed a case at Kotyali police station accusing the unknown driver as the plaintiff. After the accident, RAB arrested the absconding accused bus driver Khokon Miah from Kotchandpur area of Jhenaidah district using information technology and intelligence information. RAB said that efforts are underway to arrest the bus helper.
