Unable to bear the grief of the death of his lover in Shivpur of Narsingdi, lover Sifat (19) committed suicide with a Facebook status. The incident took place in Kharia village of Machimpur union of the upazila around 10 pm on Thursday (April 25). Deceased Sifat is the son of Ibrahim of that village. He was a 12th class student of Shivpur Government Shaheed Asad College.
The deceased’s father Ibrahim told reporters that my son Sifat had a love affair with his cousin Tanha (15). At two o’clock in the morning on April 3, Tanha saw Raju’s son Angur (25) from the same area while Sifat was standing in front of the window and talking. Meanwhile, Angur gave Tanha a bad proposal. Sifat forbids it. Angur beat Sifat and demanded money for not agreeing to the bad proposal. Later he gets angry and injures the grape by cutting it.
He also said that Tanha committed suicide by hanging herself in her house on the night of April 6 in public shame. There was supposed to be a rural arbitration court in these matters. Salish used to humiliate me and my son in various ways. When going to the court, they were asked to take the land deed. Unable to bear these pressures, Sifat committed suicide by hanging. I demand justice.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibpur Model Police Station. Farid Uddin said, the body was recovered and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Basically, this suicide is about love. Besides, the lover filed a case against Tanha’s father Sifat in the police station accusing Tanha of inciting suicide.
