Madrasah student injured 8, two cows died in lightning strike

Eight people, including six students of a madrasa, were injured in separate lightning strikes at Faridpur’s Boalmari. Two cows died due to lightning.

It is known that on Monday from 4 pm to 12 pm there was lightning in different parts of Boalmari upazila. At least 8 people were injured in the lightning strikes in different parts of the upazila and were admitted to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex.

The injured are Shefali (35), wife of Anshar Sheikh of Tamarhaji village of Parameshwardi union of the upazila, Zakaria (11), Ahid (12), Soheb (11), Sajib (12), Hossain (10), a student of Rahmania Arabia Markus Madrasa of Sotashi village of the municipality. . Momin (12) and Munzila (21) of Charsalnagar village in nearby Lohagara upazila.

Anshar Sheikh of Tamarhaji village, the husband of Shefali Begum admitted to the hospital, said that on Monday afternoon, lightning struck the coconut tree in front of the cowshed. Two cows worth more than one and a half lakh rupees died in this. And my wife Shefali was on the porch of the cowshed. He is seriously injured and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Another lightning incident injured six students of Rahmaniya Arabia Markus Madrasah.

Upazila Chairman MM Mosharraf Hossain Musha Mia went to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex to see the injured.

In this regard, the doctor on duty at the emergency department of Boalmari Upazila Health Complex. Shariful Islam said that the injured patients have been kept under close observation. If their physical condition deteriorates, they will be sent to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital.
