David Slayton Milley is the next US ambassador to Bangladesh

President Joe Biden has nominated David Slayton Mill as the next US ambassador to Bangladesh. If this nomination is finalized in Senate, David Slayton Mill will replace Peter Haas in the Dhaka embassy. This information was informed in a statement of the White House on Thursday local time.

David Slayton Mills currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Beijing. He was earlier the Deputy Mission Chief in Dhaka.

Mill is currently the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Beijing, China. He also served as Interim Charge of Affairs there.

According to the statement, the nomination of senior diplomat David Mill as the next ambassador of the United States to Bangladesh has been sent to the Senate. If the nomination is finalized after the hearing in the Senate, Mill will be sent to Dhaka as an ambassador.

Before the twelfth parliamentary election, Peter Haas served as one of the main diplomats during various consultations and discussions-criticism of the United States about the vote of Bangladesh. Washington is sending Bangladesh expert David Mill to Dhaka within five months of the election.

A seasoned diplomat, Mill previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Dhaka from August 2014.
