Imprisonment of three businessmen in Kalkini

A mobile court sentenced three traders in Madaripur’s Kalkini for illegally extracting sand from the river with dredgers. The accused are Md. Jahangir Hossain, Md. Rajib and Riaz Howladar. It is known from mobile court sources that local influential groups have been extracting sand from Arial Khan river in Banshgari area of the upazila for a long time. Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi conducted a two-hour operation under the direction of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Uttam Kumar Das on receiving this information. Zakir Hossain. Meanwhile, several influential illegal sand traders quickly fled from the scene after sensing the presence of the procession. In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Uttam Kumar Dash said that three sand traders were sentenced to prison by conducting a mobile court. However, this campaign will continue regularly.
