Syndicate will not be tolerated during Eid: RAB

Commander Arafat Islam, director of RAB’s law and media wing, has warned that the violence of any syndicate will not be tolerated for the sale of skins of sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha.

He gave this warning during an exchange of views with journalists regarding the action taken on the Qorbani animal market at Gabtali in the capital on Friday (June 14) afternoon.

Commander Arafat Islam said, our executive magistrates are present at the market all the time. No one shall sell any animal that is sick or diseased or that has been treated with fattening drugs. Actions are being taken as per Livestock Control Act if such activities are seen. We are careful that buyers who come to buy sacrificial animals in the market do not face any kind of problem.

Stating that RAB is working for the security of buyers and sellers in every market including Gabtali animal market, he said that security is being ensured through control room patrolling in RAB battalion. Besides, any buyer-seller should contact our control room or RAB members in case of any kind of suffering or problem. We will help you in every way.

Arafat Islam warned about the syndicate of sacrificial animal skin and said, we want to warn the seasonal leather traders. No syndicates with animal skins will be tolerated. There should be no confusion in any area with the leather business. Our intelligence activities will continue in that regard.

He said, we have patrol teams and striking teams in every neighborhood and street of the capital. One should not face any kind of problem on the road while going to the market with the sacrificial animal or to buy the animal. We are careful about that too. However, law and order and security require everyone’s cooperation.

In response to the questions of the journalists, the director of RAB’s law and media wing said that the cow market has been leased according to the rules. I will talk to the lessees about whether the cow is sitting on the road or outside the market boundary. So that the traders do not face any difficulties.

Many haats are located in residential areas, when asked about this, Commander Arafat said, I will discuss this with the City Corporation. I will call on the public representatives, do their duty and look into this matter.

When asked about taking cows from one haat to another haat, he said, he helps with information and informs us if there is any complaint. Action will be taken against anyone who has done such activities, which are against the law. Everyone has been warned, no one can take cows from one market to another market. If the cow sellers complain in this regard, we will definitely take appropriate action.
