Nobody can stay in power by stealing votes: PM

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said that there is a conspiracy to create a situation like 1974 again in the country. He made this claim at the inauguration and prize distribution ceremony of the three-month-long tree plantation program organized by Krishak League at Ganabhaban on Saturday (June 15) morning.

Awami League president said to his party leaders and activists that there is a conspiracy to create a situation like 1974 again in the country. All of you must be aware to prevent this conspiracy.

Bringing up the issue of BNP’s movement on the question of democracy and voting rights, he said, hearing the talk of democracy and voting rights on the BNP’s lips makes people smile. Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP, was the first to take away the voting rights of people.

Sheikh Hasina said, nobody can stay in power by stealing votes. Khaleda Zia’s resignation in 1996 proves that.

In the event, the Prime Minister directed that no industrialization can be done by destroying three crop lands and urged everyone to join the tree plantation drive.
