A motorcyclist was killed by a bus in the capital

A motorcyclist named Akkas (55) was killed after being hit by a bus in the capital’s Banani. Eyewitnesses said that the motorcyclist was pushed down and the bus was dragged for some distance. He was killed on the spot. The accident happened on Saturday (June 15) around 11:00 pm on Banani Road No. 27.

Confirming the matter, Banani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Sahan Haque said that at 11:30 am on Saturday, a motorcycle was taking U-turn from Banani number 27 towards Uttara. Suddenly the shuttle bus pushed the motorcycle and dragged it for some distance. The motorcyclist died on the spot.

He said that the barangay bus disobeyed the traffic signal and ran at a reckless speed and hit the bike from behind. The bike driver went under the bus.

SI Jane Alam of Banani police station said that the deceased’s name is Akkas. He is about 55 years old. His village home is Bogra. The body has been taken to Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital for post-mortem. Deceased Akkas used to work in government. Currently working in a company called Turnspot in SQ Cables.
