The Prime Minister is going to Delhi on Friday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to Delhi on a bilateral visit tomorrow Friday (June 21).

This is the first visit of a head of government to India after the BJP coalition formed the government for the third consecutive time.

The Prime Minister’s Press Wing said in a press release that during the visit, a private meeting between the Prime Ministers of the two countries will be held at the highest level followed by discussions at the delegation level. During the visit, several agreements and memorandums of understanding will be signed to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.

A possible trade deal is also expected to be discussed. A number of cross-border initiatives have been launched over the past decade as part of a strong regional partnership plan.

This will be Sheikh Hasina’s second visit to the Indian capital in less than 15 days. He was among the dignitaries invited to Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on June 9.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her entourage around 2 pm on Friday.

The flight will land at Palam Airport in New Delhi at 4 pm (Delhi time). India’s foreign minister in the evening. S Jaishankar will meet the Prime Minister at his residence.

A red carpet will be laid at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday morning to welcome Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At this time Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will also visit the Guard of Honour.

He will then pay his respects at Rajghat by placing wreaths at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. There he will sign the visitation book.

Sheikh Hasina will visit Hyderabad House on the same day for a private meeting and delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Both will witness the MoU and Agreement signing ceremony. The two Prime Ministers will then make their statements. They will attend a banquet hosted by the Prime Minister of India in honor of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh at Hyderabad House.
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will meet Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Secretariat.

In the evening, Sheikh Hasina will meet Indian President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Prime Minister will leave the Indian capital from New Delhi’s Palam Airport on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 6 pm local time. He will land in Dhaka at 9 pm.
