Fake Facebook ID in the name of district police Dinajpur, fraudster arrested

A fake Facebook page was being opened in the name of District Police Dinajpur. A fraudster has been arrested by the District Cyber ​​Crime Unit and DB Police for creating a fake Facebook ID by forging a profile picture.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sheikh Jinnah Al Mamun confirmed the news of the arrest of the fraudster in a press conference at Dinajpur Additional Superintendent of Police Sadar Circle office on Monday at 12:30 pm.

Digital fraudster Rabiul Islam Rabi (25). He is the son of Abdul Hakim of Bara Bandar (Yogen Babur) Mat area of ​​Dinajpur city.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Sadar Circle, Sheikh Jinnah Al Mamun said that recently District Police Dinajpur Facebook page was opened and profile pictures of Superintendent of Police were copied and used. Besides, a fake Facebook page was opened and financial support was sought in the name of Orphanage Madrasa. It says- ‘An Orphanage Madrasah needs 50 Quran Sharif and Carpet, everyone come forward, help’ and Mithapukur Women’s Qaumi Madrasa needs 20 Quran Sharif who are willing to give comments are posted. The Cyber ​​Crime Unit and DB Police identified the fraudster Mohammad Rabiul Islam using the fake Facebook ID and page through information technology and sources.

After confirming the location of the digital fraudster, a vigilant police team raided the house of the accused at 7:45 pm on Sunday, June 30 and arrested the accused Rabiul Islam Rabi. An android mobile set with sim used in fraud was seized from him.

After the arrest, at least 15 fake IDs of his mobile phone were recovered and he admitted to this fraud during the initial interrogation.

The Additional Superintendent of Police also said that this digital fraudster has cheated the common people by using the pictures and names of senior police officers and there has been evidence of using the names and pictures of several well-known people of Dinajpur to talk about orphanages. A case has been registered against him under the Cyber ​​Crime Act at Kotwali police station and the police will also file a demand for more information.

The press conference was also attended by DB OC Sohail Rana and Sadar Circle In-charge Inspector Rajiv and other police officials.
