Country’s first law university to be established in Madaripur

Law Minister Anisul Haque said that Bangladesh’s first law university will be established at Shibchar in Madaripur. On Saturday (July 6) he informed reporters while visiting several proposed places in Shivchar.

The law minister said, we have taken a decision to establish two institutions in Shivchar from the judicial department. Proposal to make Chief Judicial Academy passed. Arrangements have also been made for land acquisition and payment of compensation to affected land owners for this institution. Besides, a law university will be established on the instructions of the Prime Minister. Which will be called Bangladesh Law University. We have planned to set up the university in Shibchar of Madaripur district.

He also said that this will be the first law university in the country. We have come to inspect the land for the university. Visited three places in different parts of Shivchar for law university. Out of these, we shall choose the place which seems suitable for the establishment of a law university. Within a few days, I will inform you where the Bangladesh Law University will be located.
