Dhaka: Bangladesh Technical Education Board Chairman Md. Ali Akbar Khan’s wife Shehela Parveen has been arrested by Metropolitan Detective Police (DB).
He was detained and interrogated on Saturday (April 20).
He was later shown arrested in a case filed under the Cyber Security Act.
According to DB sources, the main accused ATM Shamsuzzaman and co-accused Sanjida Akhter alias Koli in the technical board certificate trade case have given confessional statements. Based on this statement, Shehela Parveen was brought to the DB for questioning on Saturday. Initially, evidence of money transactions with ATM Shamsuzzaman was found against Shehela.
DB chief Mohammad Haroon-ur-Rashid said Shehela Parveen was brought to the DB for questioning based on the statements of other accused.
Earlier in the same case, technical education board system analyst Shamsuzzaman, former employee and currently employed in Shamsuzzaman’s own factory for making certificates Faisal Hossain, director of Garai Survey Institute Sanjida Akhter alias Koli, principal of Hillful Fujul technical institute Sardar Golam Mostafa and Dhaka Polytechnic School and College of Jatrabari. Director Maksudur Rahman has been arrested. Some of them are in remand.
Recently, DB found a technical education board certificate manufacturing factory in Pirer Bagh of the capital.
This certificate is not fake but the paper used by the government to issue certificates to students, technical education board system analyst Shamsuzzaman used to make the certificate using the same paper. That is, he used to get the paper from the education board and make the certificate at home. He used to take money according to the results. However, he did not work for less than 35 thousand.
After making the certificate, he would upload the result information to the server of the education board. Many have gone abroad with this certificate, many are studying in universities, and many are working. Thus he gave more than five and a half thousand certificates.
After the arrest, technical education board’s system analyst Shamsuzzaman told DB in the interrogation that the paper was released by managing everyone, that is, in collusion with everyone in the education board. Even many journalists knew about his certificate making factory. Everyone took illegal advantage from him.
